Primary Elections Matter

While this off-year election cycle will not include the kind of federal level candidates that typically result in higher level voter turnouts, the offices that will be decided by the primary and November results do have significant impact on our day to day lives.

It is critical that voters turn out particularly for our respective school board candidates, supervisors, local council members, mayors, and more.  Our goal between now and the fall elections is to provide as much information as possible to help all become familiar with our conservative candidates to allow our party’s voters to vote in person, via mail in ballot, or early at the County Courthouse with more information on candidates than just name recognition.

Primaries matter a great deal and will determine the names that will be on the November ballot.  Some offices up for election this year allow candidates to cross-register on both party tickets during the primary.  That means if conservatives do not bother voting in the primaries, it is possible that your conservative candidates may not even make it on the fall ballot.

In the last off-cycle election, our conservative school board candidates promised and delivered on making fiscally responsible decisions and delivered on that promise.   There is still work to accomplish, and we need to have a solid conservative majority on our school boards to ensure that current maintenance needs are addressed and not put off.  In one case there seems to be an effort to try to justify the cost of building a new school instead in an era of declining school enrollment.  In looking around at some of the other schools in surrounding districts there are much older facilities that have been continuously maintained and remain in impressive condition.  That should be our goal as well.

WCRC D-12 will ensure that you can find out who our candidates are and help you get to know more about them here on our d12gop.org website.   Once candidates are known, we will encourage those individuals to provide information about their experiences, background, and more about themselves including what prompted there desire to run for the first time or information on their accomplishments if running for reelection.

Check your registration status, and if you are not registered you can register, update your address, or request a mail in ballot all at: https://www.pa.gov/agencies/vote/voter-registration.html.

Given what is a traditionally low turnout for off-cycle primary elections, we encourage all to consider requesting mail in ballots for the primary election.  We understand the preference of voting in person, but statistics show that primary turnouts are lower, and every vote for conservative candidates matters.
